Professionally, I use symfony 1.0 with Oracle on Apache Windows 2003 VMWare servers, using fcgid and eAccelerator, but soon to move to RHEL. For my own development work, I use symfony and Apache on virtualised Linux, with MySQL. My learning focus presently is on ActionScript and Flex, with smidges of Doctrine when time permits. I am a contributor to the symfony forum.

Bandwidth (como Developer)

"Bandwidth" is an alpha release of an open-source project to manage downloads on a server, based on symfony 1.3 and Propel 1.5. Files can be uploaded, have basic metadata edited, and be added to one or more groups. Each group allows the specification of a maximum number of downloads, byte count, bandwidth, concurrent users and concurrent users per IP. Limits can also be reset periodically, for example setting a maximum 10GB every 30 days, starting on day 5. So, the basic structure is pretty flexible. This will work on any database supported by Propel 1.5. But: do bear in mind this *is* alpha software. It is (hopefully!) some use already, but there are plenty of functional and aesthetic changes to go before it can move to beta. I am releasing it early to see if there is any interest before committing more time to it. If you would find this useful, get in touch via the comments on my blog. What features are most required? Any bugs to iron out? Also, if you can contribute code, then great - let me know!

Propel Criteria Builder (como Developer)

Some while ago I built a simple Propel Criteria builder utility that (tries to) convert simple SQL where clauses into Propel 1.2 PHP syntax. I intend to do much more work on it, but for the time being despite its early alpha state, it should still be useful for beginners looking to see how to build nested AND/OR queries. It's not officially open source, but I am happy to send a tarfile to anyone interested in improving it, or seeing how the parser works. Feedback is welcome on this related forum thread: http://www.symfony-project.org/forum/index.php/m/30705/
